CHARLI H

INSTRUCTOR

Charli started a career in Biochemistry, however, whilst working, she experienced debilitating widespread chronic pain and after receiving many diagnoses, including hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, she eventually found her way out of pain using a combination of Pilates, neuroscience understanding, and brain retraining. After making a full recovery, she took a career change to follow her passion in helping others experiencing pain.

She uses a combination of Pilates, up-to-date research on the nervous system, and her biochemistry background to teach others how they too can help themselves with their pain. Her Pilates style is a fusion of classical and contemporary, focusing on technique and mindful movement.

Charli teaches clinical Pilates in physiotherapy clinics as well as mixed ability classes in Pilates studios in north and central London. She understands how transformative group Pilates classes can be to someone’s day, so ensures she puts a lot of thought, care, and attention into her class planning. You can expect to work hard in her classes, learn about the body, and have a few laughs. You’ll walk away feeling empowered, energised, yet calm.

Outside of Pilates, Charli still has loads of energy so she loves to use it up in the gym, cycling, swimming in the ponds, or walking outside with friends. She also loves to spend time exploring the intersection of science and art, either through her own art creation or visiting exhibitions.
